The brief
For this teen hangout and garden studio on the Central Coast, we leaned into a tight palette of earthy browns and deep greens to create a calm, grounded atmosphere that feels connected to the surrounding landscape.
The approach
Texture became the hero, layered through cork, woven rattan, a silky rug and the bold onyx side table to bring warmth and movement to the darker tones. Because the palette is so rich and enveloping, lighting was a key part of the design.
